As the use of self-checkout areas continues to accelerate, Epson has developed a new receipt printer designed to make the process as efficient as possible.Designed for busy kiosk spaces, the unit offers fast printing, compact design and remote monitoring support.
Epson’s newest thermal receipt printer can help grocers as they face labor shortages and work to ensure a smooth checkout system for shoppers who prefer to scan and pack their groceries themselves.
“The world has changed over the past 18 months, self-service is a growing trend, and it’s not going anywhere,” said a product manager for the business systems group at Epson America Inc., headquartered in Los Alamitos, Calif. Additional features of the new printer include border options that improve paper path alignment and prevent paper jams, and illuminated LED alerts for quick troubleshooting.When sustainability is a top priority for retailers and consumers, the machine can reduce paper usage by up to 30%.Epson, part of Japan’s Seiko Epson Corporation, is also working to become carbon negative and eliminate the use of resources such as oil and metals by 2050.
