Review-I have sent many packages that require labels-most of them are returned by Amazon or shipped by eBay. Usually I print a piece of paper, cut off the excess part, and then stick the remaining part on the box. It seems a bit wasteful. With a label printer, I think I will save a lot of steps and no longer need to stick tape on the edges of plain paper! This is where the iDPRT SP410 thermal label printer comes in.
Thermal printers do not use ink or toner. Instead, it uses a special paper or label iDPRT SP410 that can hold labels from 2 inches to 4.65 inches wide, connects via USB, and is compatible with Mac and PC.
For starters, the printer is small. It is about the size of a loaf of bread. This is the printer is turned on, and the test print is still inside.
At that time I realized that this printer does not store printing paper or labels like traditional printers. You must attach a roll or box to the outside of the printer to put it in. There is a power switch on the back side of the printer, USB
Inside the printer, you will notice the serrated blade. It will not automatically cut your prints. You tear them off with your hands.
I bought a box of 4×6 labels and opened the top as a kind of funnel. Here, the label is fed into the back of the printer.
I can print the label image I captured (command-shift-4 on Mac), which is my usual method. The printing speed of iDPRT SP410 is amazing. I don’t even have time to move my hands! Take a look.
It seems that iDPRT SP410 has many clones on Amazon. They are probably very similar. I am very satisfied with the size, speed and convenience of the SP410.
Pro tip: The wall-mounted toilet paper holder is an excellent label roll holder (the wall-mounted base rests on a table or a horizontal surface).
What is the quality, resolution and contrast of the printed results? I have read some other thermal printer reviews and complained about these aspects.
Great review! Do you have any suggestions for wireless options? I really like FreeX WiFi thermal printer. It has wireless function and more powerful functions.
